| Astronomical Observing from a Biblical View (AOBV) |
This project is a curriculum on practical astronomical observing from a Biblical point of view (including creation as described in Genesis and various other scriptures). We use this as an outreach tool but also as educational training for disadvantaged groups - especially for teachers/children who do not have access to science materials and equipment. The curriculum teaches practical observing skills, use of equipment and technical sketching to record observations. Kits and instruction are provided disadvantaged groups and ministries. As of 2010, it is our largest project. Information on the course and related training that is offered can be located here. [active] |

| Chinese Church |
Around 2004 we were asked to assist at a local Chinese church. We established children's programs and Bible studies but also preached. Children's activities have become independent. Studies, preaching, and related activities continue. We are part of the leadership team of the church to share the gospel with Chinese students or scholars who are attending the University of Virginia. [active] |

| Disaster Emergency Project |
Katrina experience impressed us to be generally capable of disaster relief on a small scale for families or individuals in need of assistance in future disasters. The project is in a preparatory phase so we are ready on a small scale to assist others directly but especially teach others to do the same. This project covers our self training and equipment that we need to respond to situations. A new project (DPBV, see below) will handle the outreach and training of disaster and emergency preparedness for other believers. [active] |

| Food Distribution |
Food distribution to the poor and needy started over 15 years ago, peaked in the late 1990s, and decreased until it was stopped in late 2008. The experience was invaluable since much disaster relief efforts include tasks that are very similar. [inactive] |

| Haiti Project |
This project began by assisting another US ministry by provide medical assistance to a Haitian church and other Haitian areas before 2010. We provided seminars on that trip and helped a medical clinic. While our work on this project has ceased, we still refer interested parties to other ministries doing good work in Haiti--especially assisting the Haitians since the devastating earthquake. | Home School Support Group |
Functions include a variety of educational helps as we worked with children with special needs. Work from our Crozet base began over 15 years ago and peaked in 2002-2003. We no longer have this function from our home, although pictures in the home galleries show examples with the original home school support group. Our experience laid much of the ground work for newer projects where we are teaching teachers in overseas areas. [inactive] |

| Uganda Project with N.E.E.P.U |
This was an extensive project that assists a Ugandan ministry that helps a small village in rural Western Uganda. We have provided funds, helped establish a farm, sent a container of education/farm materials and encouraged our friends. Training has been provided to young people, teachers, and leaders. Teaching and preaching in local churches is also provided when requested. We are looking for other churches and ministries to pick up in several areas where we have concluded our efforts. As a result of Spring 2009 visits, CWM has provided some quilting machines to help a co-op being sponsored by the 555 ministry that has a mixture of practical and Christian helps to the Lakota Sioux Native Americans on the Pine Ridge reservation. We revisited the ministry twice to see how things were doing and provide some presentations to a local youth group. [inactive] |

| Philippines |
This project began in late 2009 with interaction with a Christian ministry that has over hundred schools. We visited Institute for Foundational Learning to conduct training and transfer kits of equipment for schools and ministries to use regarding AOBV. We have had two mission trips as of late 2011 but the project work will continue through 2012 and early 2013 with visits, training, and the sending of materials. The this project has the potential to reach thousands of children and hundreds of schools. [active and increasing] |

| Disaster Preparedness from a Biblical View (DPBV) |
DPBV an education- and training-oriented endeavor for other believers that is beginning. As a result of our Katrina, overseas, and home-based ministry experience, we have found many Christians ill-prepared for disaster or emergencies to help themselves or to help their neighbors. Being prepared for emergencies and disasters is a wonderful way to demonstrate the love of God and bring Christ into a situation while providing practical assistance to those in need. We will be making educational files (text and video) for to help believers be better prepared for this type of both practical and spiritual ministry. We hope to be posting files and starting training in 2012-2013. [planning stage, increasing] |
